Kids Club Hockey

Kids Club Hockey is a beginner-friendly hockey program in Vancouver. It gives kids more chances to skate, learn, and have fun on the ice in a safe and structured environment.

The goal of Kids Club Hockey is to help new players feel confident while learning basic hockey skills. The focus is on fun and teamwork—not competition. All kids must wear full hockey gear. Adults approved to go on the ice must wear a helmet and gloves at minimum.

We use TeamSnap to manage signups. All spots must be prepaid to help cover ice rental costs.

Most days, we’ll have a **dedicated coach** running the session. That means parents do not need to be involved. The coach will lead drills and keep things organized and fun. In the rare case that a coach isn’t available, we’ll ask a parent volunteer to step in. Volunteers must be approved by HockeyTourney and have a valid Criminal Record Check. Extra certifications like coaching or first aid are a bonus.

If needed, one parent may lead a simple lesson plan with help from others. This ensures the session still runs smoothly and keeps the kids engaged.

We’ll split players by age or skill. Younger kids (under 9) go on one side, and older ones (9+) on the other. Most children in Kids Club Hockey are beginners. If your child is more advanced, another Vancouver program may be a better fit.

This is a great way for kids to build confidence, get exercise, and enjoy being part of a team—without pressure. Many families find this to be a perfect first step into the hockey world.

No lifting pucks or rough play. This isn’t adult stick-and-puck time—it’s about fun and safety for kids.

Depending on turnout, we may divide the ice so newer kids get one-on-one help, while others run drills and games.
